Danny Lyon is known for his groundbreaking style of photojournalism, a form of documentary photography in which the photographer lives with their subject intimately.
One of his most notable projects, four years spent living with a motorcycle club in the USA during the 1960’s, culminated in the book, “The Bikeriders,” (1968). It is a portrait of a bike culture that began to decline in the late 60’s and early 70’s.
This study of life on the road has also been the inspiration for a Hollywood film released this summer also called “The Bikeriders.”
